NNO 2018

 In Events

Over 600 in attendance! Prevent Together is grateful to our National Night Out Partners: City of Battle Ground, Washington – Official Government Site, Fire District 3 and City of Battle Ground Police Department. Fire and police had lots of fun activities for children including the SafeHouse and always popular vehicles to explore. The City of Battle Ground distributed the Battle Ground Roadmap. At the Prevent Together Coalition booth, our Steering Committee members talked with families about the importance of locking up their prescription drugs. Many participated in a survey about this important issue to protect our youth. Our youth volunteers from STASHA and the DREAM Team engaged children with important drug prevention and safety information and prizes.
We appreciate our generous sponsors Molina Healthcare of Washington and also Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. Police Chief Bob Richardson and Fire Chief Scott Sorenson cooked over 600 delicious hot dogs provided by the Battle Ground Safeway Store, thirst quenchers provided by Corwin Beverage Company and chips provided by the Fred Meyer.
Children and families had so much fun with all of the educational and fantastic activities provided by our wonderful community partners, and we so appreciative for coming out in the high 90s heat, and still a smile. The Battle Ground Rose Festival Princesses had an endless line of adorable faces to paint. Those who attended were delighted by the performance of The BlackPearl Friesian Dance Troupe, and the great music played by the NW Rock Academy band. Special thanks to Al Jones of A & L Productions for providing the sound system.
